- These demos (actually the same executable running on different VRML
- files) shows the innovative features of OpenWorlds, working with
- Performer in bringing VRML capabilities to Performer.
-
- With Openworlds you can load VRML files, and create your own nodes,
- and further more create Performer-VRML nodes (Look at cartrack.wrl
- or perftown.wrl)
-
- Here are some instructions:
-
- To run the demos:
- ----------------
- Edit the scripts and change the LD_LIBRARY_PATH *only*. Make sure
- you add the path for the standard Performer libraries and the database
- loaders.
-
- Then run the scripts.
-
- Controls for owPerfCar:
- -----------------------
- The controls for this are very simple. Click on different parts of the
- steering wheel to go forward and different directions. To stop the car, click
- on the center of the steering wheel. Click on the top of the stick shift to
- change directions. In order to change view points click on the "view"
- buttons. Be aware that buttons may be slow to respond, but don't lose hope :)
-
- Trying VRML files across the web:
- ---------------------------------
- In case you need to set the proxy server, just change the script files
- or from the shell, set OWPROXY. For example,
- setenv OWPROXY http://bob:80/
- And from the GUI tool or from the command line give the http location.
